Using the Patentimplant system requires a strong understanding of the unique specificities of the system and the properties of the material. Therefore, a course on the Patent™ implant system is strongly recommended. In the future, the new European Medical Device Directive, which is a precursor to the new Medical Device Regulations, will require all manufacturers to provide user training. However, the Patent™ implant system follows most of the principles of basic implantology, so a one-day course should be sufficient.
